Nigerian captain Ahmed Musa set to retire from international football after failure to qualify the team for world cup.

Nigerian national team lost the final match of the play off to their Ghanian counter part after a 1-1 draw and loosing to away goal rules.

musa came in as a second half substitute but made little impact in the game that saw them freely give the world cup ticket to their Ghanian counter part.

The super eagles will be led by Ekong who has been the assistant to Ahmed Musa for over two years.

The Nigerian side will face Mexico in a friendly match in May with hopes of raising a good team for the forthcoming African cup of nation in 2023.
