The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike during a meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in the state disclosed that he moved out of the state’s Government House two years ago.
About 31:00 minutes into a video shared on YouTube by Channels TV, Governor Wike stated that he has been holding elective posts since 1999 and he has no intention to seek any elective office in 2023. The Governor said he is not like other governors who are reluctant to move out of the government house after the end of their tenure and he moved out of Rivers State Government House two years ago because he feels more comfortable in his own house.
In his exact words “My tenure is 8 years, it can not be extended so I know. For two years I have packed away from the government house and I don’t even know what the place looks like. I stay in my house where I feel comfortable so it is only those who think that power is everything, you want to stay there even to pack out, you want to pack out on 29. I left two years ago. I told the candidate to go and live there because for me it doesn’t make any sense”.
