If Ayu Must Go, Then Wike Should Remember Our Agreement And What He Said in Abuja - Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, a former PDP presidential candidate and journalist has responded to Wike’s camp on Atiku Abubakar’s presidency.

Recall that Gov. Wike’s camp recently withdrew from Atiku Abubakar’s campaign team in protest over their demand that Ayu Iyorchia, the PDP National Chairman, step down in ahead of the 2023 presidential election. Dele Momodu brought up the issue of their “agreement” and what he said in Abuja during the PDP primaries when he was recently interviewed by Arise News online. Gov. Wike was then reminded of this. According to him,

“There is no way you will ask Ayu to leave and it will not affect the other NWC members. We were all aware that the number one ticket would be available to anyone before we all decided to compete. This time, the permutation and agreement was on who could win for the party regardless of the zone.

“APC wanted to choose a Muslim-Muslim ticket because they wanted candidates who could win. What makes PDP’s own distinct, then? We have made a commitment to support whoever wins the presidential election in Abuja. Wike needs to keep this in mind. Nobody anticipated this specific conclusion “Dele Momodu remarked.

Dele Momodu went on to say that Gov. Wike was one of the best PDP governors who had offered his services to the party. Thus, Wike and Atiku should have a conversation to resolve the issue before it is too late.
