It is no longer news that Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist, Professor Zainab Duke Abiola has been arrested and detained by the Nigeria Police for allegedly assaulting a woman inspector identified as Teju Moses.
It would be recalled that a viral video of inspector Teju Moses seated on the floor and asked to be taken to the hospital for medical attention has been making the round on social media.
Prof Zainab has been accused of beaten up the police woman along with her maid.
Speaking her own side of the story through Afro-European Lawyers League, Professor Zainab Duke Abiola has denied the allegations against her.
According to Daily Trust Newspaper, the human rights activist issue the statement through Afro-European Lawyers League on Friday.
According to the statement, it was Inspector Teju that came to prof Abiola’s compound at night with gun and other dangerous weapons.
According to her, the woman police was initially assigned to her as orderly but her posting was rejected upon discovery of her involvement in police brutality against Nigerians during End Sars.
“She returned with a Vengeance banging on our gates with some dangerous weapons including a gun threatening to kill everybody in the compound” Daily Trust Newspaper quoted Afro-European Lawyers League in the statement that has been issued on behalf of professor Zainab Duke Abiola.
