No One Came Out Here With Even A Stone, What We Came Out With Was The Nigerian Flag - Source Reveals

The police in Ebonyi State have dispersed Peter Obi’s supporters who gathered in the state for a march in support of the Labour Party presidential candidate.

One of the supporters who was at the venue narrated to newsmen that the march was a peaceful one, and that none of them came out with any harmful object, adding that he wonders why police were sent to harass them.

The supporter who was identified as Ugoama Stephen alleged that some of their members were arrested, and called on the State Governor, Dave Umahi, to address the issue and order for the release of their members that were arrested by the police without any conditions.

In the report which was made by Daily Post, he said – “My phone was smashed by the police this morning. We demand that the people that they (police) have arrested be released unconditionally because they have not done anything. Nobody came out here with even a stone. We didn’t come out here with a pin. What we came out here with is the Nigerian flag.”

According to media reports, the supporters had gathered at the Pastoral Center in Abakalili, the capital of Ebonyi State, when the police stormed the venue and used teargas to disperse them.

The report has been attracting mixed reactions from members of the public on why the supporters were dispersed by the police, though the police are yet to release a statement on why they took the action.
