Armed hunters attack task force in Abuja 

Suspected armed hunters yesterday attacked a task force of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

The task force officials were enforcing the restriction of commercial motorcyclists at Sabo Lugbe, along Airport Road when they were attacked.

Four suspects were arrested, and two local guns and 70 motorcycles were recovered. The suspects were said to have obstructed the operations of the task force last week with guns and arrows, preventing the squad from impounding motorcycles and arresting their riders for Violating route restrictions.

Southerner must replace Ayu before September 28 – George

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, has insisted that a southern candidate must replace Iyorchia Ayu as the national chairman of the party before the beginning of the 2023 election campaigns scheduled for September 28, 2022.

He said Ayu, who is from the northern part of the country, could not continue to hold the position since the presidential candidate of the party is from the North.

George, who spoke at a press conference in Lagos on Thursday, said Ayu’s refusal to fulfill his promise meant that members of the party in the south were of no importance.

Professor Ibe who was addressing newsmen Thursday after the inauguration of his campaign offices in Aba and Umuahia said he was medically and physically fit to govern the state if voted into power.

The APGA governorship hopeful who just returned from the United States where he received medical treatment following a slide he had last year, said he had fully recovered and had returned to take over power in 2023.

The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said Nollywood entertainers and filmmakers have highly productive talents.
