I Will Fight To Finish — Wike Insists

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will not leave the Peoples Democratic Party for any reason.

The governor stated that he was rather interested in preserving the sanity of the party and would stay back to fight for the enthronement of unity, inclusivity, equity, and peace in the PDP.

Wike made the declaration at the Rivers State PDP stakeholders meeting in Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday.

The governor said he is a man of character, unlike those who cannot keep their word and walked out of the party at the Eagle Square in Abuja in 2014.

Atiku tackles Lai Mohammed, demands apology

The Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, tackled the Minister of Information and Communication, Lai Mohammed, over his (minister) claim that the former vice president plagiarised the economic blueprint of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The PUNCH reports that Mohammed while speaking during a press conference in Abuja alleged that the economic blueprint laid out by Atiku was copied.

The minister said the former Vice President’s blueprint was a “crude attempt” at copying the Buhari-led administration.

Yahaya Bello’s street credibility, an asset to Tinubu’s campaign – APC youths

Youths of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC have hailed the appointment of Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state as National Youth Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, saying his “street credibility” among Nigerian youths makes him a great asset to the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential project.

Speaking under the aegis of APC Young Stakeholders, the youths said Bello’s appointment was not a surprise as Tinubu had over the years demonstrated his ability to identify individuals, regardless of religion, tribe, or gender who have the wherewithal to deliver on any given task.

At a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, the spokesman of the stakeholders, Engr. Aliyu Audu said Bello is not only the most qualified for that noble assignment, but his connection with the youthful population of the nation puts him ahead of any other person ordinarily in consideration.

Investment in security yielding good dividends- Buhari

Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday expressed delight that investments in improving security are yielding good dividends, lauding the Nigerian military for making significant progress in the fight against insecurity and building the momentum in reducing challenges to their barest minimum.

Speaking at the Nigeria International Economic Partnership Forum held on the margins of the 77th UN General Assembly in New York, the President pledged that the Federal Government would do more to improve security, recognizing that the sector is another critical element in the flow of investment, and overall economic and infrastructural development.

President Buhari in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina was quoted as saying, ”We will continue to give all necessary support to our security outfits to ensure that they can tackle the challenge headlong”, he said, stressing that ”the advantages and disadvantages of investing in Nigeria far outweigh the challenges.”
