Tinubu Rejects Buhari’s Nominee

A fresh crisis is currently brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) after its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu rejected President Buhari’s nomination of Margaret Chuba Okadigbo as the Zonal Coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in the South-East.

Margaret is the widow of the late former Senate President, Dr Chuba Okadigbo.

Multiple sources in the presidency told Sahara Reporters that Buhari asked Tinubu to pick Margaret to lead the ruling APC’s campaign in the region but he refused.

Obasanjo Advises Elder Citizens

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday advised the aged in Nigeria not to joke with communal society and shun a life of isolation.

The 84-year-old former president revealed that communal society is one of the secrets that keep him fit and makes him have a befitting older age.

Obasanjo disclosed this at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta when he received the senior citizens under the aegis of Toyin Anini Varieties Centres of University College Hospital, Ibadan.

He reiterated that communal society has been one of the things that would help the aged people to live long and shape their social life.

Obaseki Rationalizes Edo MDAs

Governor Goodwin Obaseki of Edo State on Wednesday gave approval for the restructuring of the State’s civil and public service, with a view eliminating duplication of functions and cutting waste in government.

This was made known by the State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Andrew Emwanta, while briefing journalists after the weekly Executive Council (EXCO) meeting chaired by Governor Obaseki, at the Government House in Benin City.

Anambra Now Erosion Capital Of Nigeria – Soludo

The Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo, on Wednesday, said erosion and other ecological threats are gnawing at 30 to 40 per cent of the state’s landmass.

Soludo who described Anambra as the erosion capital of Nigeria called for a speedy intervention from the Federal Government and other development partners.

The governor disclosed this to State House Correspondents after meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Dogara And I Will Work Against APC – Lawal

The proposition of the Muslim-Muslim ticket by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential election is a plan to divide the northern region of Nigeria, Babachir Lawal, former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), has said.

Lawal said this while reacting to the final list of presidential and national assembly candidates for the 2023 general election released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

While commenting on the development in an interview on ARISE TV, on Wednesday, Lawal said northern Christian politicians are determined to kill the same faith ticket of the APC.
